Day 01
Upon
arrival at Cairo International Airport you will be met
by your tour manager who will help you
through your immigration and customs
formalities then escort you to your hotel
for check in and overnight.
Day02: Breakfast meet your Egyptologist guide (8:30) drive to Memphis at the edge of the western desert, (35 min. drive) the capital of Egypt until the end of the
first Kingdom, about 2270 BC, one of the most important cities throughout the history of Ancient Egypt, You will be visiting Memphis open air Museum the most important piece is Ramses the second statue about 20meters long, Close to Memphis, you will drive to Sakkara, the City of the dead with the famous step Pyramid of Zoser,
and the greatest Pharaoh of the 3rd Dynasty 2650 BC, the step pyramids is known to be the first stone building ever build in the world, then you will be visiting a Mastaba (Tomb) for the Nobel “Mereruka” from the old kingdom the tomb have beautiful colored paintings about life in Egypt during the old
Kingdom, Drive to the Pyramids of Giza,
enter the Great Pyramid (Cheops Pyramid) the largest one of the three and one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. In front of the Pyramid of Kefren, stand the alabaster Sphinx, which was discovered in 1912
carved from a single piece of stone. It is a lion with a portrait
of a Pharaoh's head, it is believed by many to be a likeness of Pharaoh Kefren. Continue our tour to the Solar Boat Museum where a dismantled river barge of King Cheops (Khufu) was found buried in front his pyramid and has been masterfully re-assembled. Drive back to your hotel (4:30 PM) Evening drive to Giza Pyramids to attend the Sound & Light Show in front the Pyramids & the Sphinx. (B)
Day 03: Breakfast meet your Egyptologist guide (9:00 AM) drive to Down Town visit the Egyptian Museum, (2 hours tour) which contains a vast collection of Pharaonic antiquities including the fabulous treasures of King Tut-Ankh-Amon. Continue your tour to Old-Cairo, visiting the old Coptic Churches the
Hanging Church dedicated to the Virgin Mary built in the 3rd century and the Church of St. Sergius, built in the 4th century and visit the oldest Jewish Synagogue of Ben Ezra. Drive to
Visit the medieval Citadel of Salah El-Din, built in the 12th century and contains many structures, the most impressive of which is the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, It was designed in the early 19th Century by a Greek Architect from Turkey. The style is
based on the Ottoman mosques of Istanbul, Continue your tour visiting Kan ElKalili bazaar area ( the old market ) return back to your hotel (4:00 PM). (B)
Day 04: Breakfast meet your tour manger who will
transfer you to Cairo Airport & help you for check in for your flight to Luxor, upon arrival you will meet your representative and guide to start your tour by visiting the east bank, first visit will be the Karnak Temple the largest religious complex in the world it was continuously built by generations for 2000 years, the
temple was mainly dedicated to the God Amon Ra who became the most important in Thebes the capital, the most celebrated feature of Karnak is the great hypostyle hall that covers 600 square meters large enough to hold within both St. Paul’s Cathedral of London or the entire Notre Dame of Paris, a forest of 134 columns supports the
ceiling all decorated with religious scenes the hall was built by Sethos the 1st and Ramses the 2nd, the relives and the pharaoh’s chronicles elsewhere in the temple presents an incomparable historical source, much of our knowledge about Egypt and the neighboring countries come from them, they also recall stories of the Bible,
continue your tour to visit Luxor temple about 10 minutes drive from Karnak Temple, the temple was built and used over a period of many generations but Amenophis the 3rd started building the temple and parts of it were completed by Ramses the 2nd where 2 of his seated colossal statues flank the doorway of the temple, the
temple was connected to Karnak temple by the a 4 kilometers avenue of the sphinx witch is still big part of it existing, one of the very interesting parts in Luxor temple is the chapel built by Alexander the great for the God Amon Raa picturing himself as the son of God, what is more interesting is the chapel he built is an exact
copy of the chapel built by Amenophis the 3rd about 11 centuries before Alexander built his own comparing the 2 chapels you will find a great difference in quality in favor of the old chapel built by Amenophis the 3rd back to your Hotel (3:00 PM). (B)
Day 05: Breakfast meet your Egyptologist guide
(7:00 AM) to start your tour by visiting the west bank, first stop will be at the Colossi of Memnon, where is the remains of the monumental avenue witch used to be lead to the temple of Amon-Ofis the 3rd. the temple has unfortunately disappeared and what remains are commonly referred to the Colossi of Memnon these 2 gigantic
statues 20 meters long and 1 meter thick were cut out of single blocks of sandstone and represent the pharaoh seated on his throne continue your tour to visit the famous valley of the kings where about 64 pharaohs tombs were discovered as in the New Kingdom Pharaohs decided to hide their tombs in a secret place hidden behind
the cliffs on the west bank of Thebes after a long history suffering of robbery and vandalism in the old and middle kingdom, you will have the chance to enter 3 different tombs (King Tut Tomb can be added upon request) as the tomb of king Ramses the6th witch is famous with it’s magnificent ceiling colored paintings
showing 2 celestial hemispheres with stellar gods in procession behind the solar barges sailing down the celestial Nile, also tomb of Tutmose the 3rd witch is considered among the most beautiful in the valley for it’s concise graphic style, continue your tour to visit the valley of the queens built for the same
reason to be away from robbery, the tombs have magnificent paintings with bright colors seem to have been painted yesterday, you will be visiting 3 different tombs (Nefertari Tomb can be added upon request) as tomb of queen Thiti who may have been the wife of one of the pharaohs of the 20th dynasty contain beautiful
paintings in delicate shades of pink, also the tomb of Prince Pra-her-Umenef one of Ramses the 3rd sons who died rather young the decoration in the tomb show the dead prince being represented by his father to various divinities, drive to Eldeir El Bahari the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut built
about 1460 BC, an architectural masterpiece designed by the architect Senmut, the conception of the monument was new and revolutionary, the temple consisted of a series of vast terraces witch by means of ramps led to the sanctuary, drive to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo, upon arrival you will be met & transferred
to your hotel. (B)
Day 06: After breakfast you will be met & transferred by your tour manger to Cairo International Airport to help you in check in and immigration formalities for your
departure flight.
